Product Releases: August Wrap Up

Three changes from August for whoever maintains your Quotivity setup. Two of them, BLANKVALUE and bundle member summaries, are on the Enterprise plan.

Reps will mostly see these through the formulas and templates behind their quotes. The exception is the Add Line Item panel, which can now save a click on every line if your team quotes from bundles or collections.

BLANKVALUE in Calculated Pricing. Calculated Pricing formulas on the Enterprise plan now support BLANKVALUE(field, fallback). It returns the fallback when the field is empty or only spaces, and the field's own value otherwise (0 and FALSE count as values). That replaces the wordier IF(ISBLANK(field), fallback, field), which is easy to write backwards. If conditional formulas are new to you, this post covers the basics.

Bundle members in custom columns. Enterprise templates can now loop through a bundle's members in a Line Items custom column. On a bundle header row, one column can print something like "Includes: 2 × Sensor, 1 × Gateway" without showing each member as its own row. Optional products are left out to match the Included Products display, and the same data is on every line item in the Custom Code module (syntax and examples).

Default Add Line Item tab. The Add Line Item panel used to open on Products every time. Fine if your reps sell from the product list. If they build from bundles or collections, it's an extra click on every line. You can now pick Products, Collections or Bundles under Settings → Quoting → General Quote Settings, and if you leave it unset the panel still opens on Products.

If you'd like to see any of these on your own templates or formulas, get in touch and we'll set up time. BLANKVALUE and the members column are on the Enterprise plan.
